Breeding |
Difficult to breed, but will breed in the Corydoras fashion. Tank water should be around 74-76*F. Spawning usually occurs when there has been a recent water change, or slight change in temperature. Cories (females) will swim around the tank quickly while being chased by males. Cories will lock in a "T" shape, and females will usually then distrubute eggs. As cories are noctournal, the spawns usually occur overnight. |

Comments |
These fish should be kept in aquariums whose substrate is small rounded gravel, or sandy substrate. Sand is ideal, as the barbels will not be harmed. Many times, this fish can be falsely labeled as Corydoras melanistius (Spotted Cory) or more commonly mislabeled as Corydoras Julii (Leopard or Julii Cory). |
